Cleanliness of the hotel is recommended. always the first choices during the trip to Penang. In the centre of the town, centre of all hawker food of macalister..15 min walk from komtar, keep up the cleanliness....

Mei Hotel is convenient and nice. Clean hotel and security on lift and staircase. Without a hotel room card, unable to reach the level. Housekeeping given a broken glass on first night and we managed to get a change on the next day. Overall worth to stay this hotel.

Affordable clean and comfortable hotel. It is situated in Abu Siti Lane, central George Town. Rooms are adequate in size and comfortable beds. Extra security in the hotel lifts as access is only available to hotel guests who tap their room cards before pressing the button for their floor number. Right opposite the hotel is a long established open air covered dim sum restaurant. Nearby in Macalister Road there are three hawker centres. Check with hotel staff as some of them may only open at night. At the Burma Road end of Abu Siti Lane are two excellent hawker centres : One Corner behind Penang Plaza is opened for breakfast. The other is New World Park, opened in the afternoon. Hotel staff are friendly and courteous.

Hotel Mei Georgetown Penang A block or so away from the McAllister Rd food market. The location is key here, 20 mins walk away from the old fort and 20 mins from Armenia St. The hotel provided two room card keys to allow the aircon to be left on during the day.

It was my first time in Penang (10 - 12/11/2022), which makes Mei Hotel my first hotel provider. I must say and admit.... This hotel is fantastic: 1. Location is right in the centre of many places either for eating or shopping. 2. The room is clean.... very clean, neat and tidy. Because of strict no smoking, the room is free from any cigarette smoke. Good Housekeeping team. 3. The water shower pressure was strong and hot. 4. Front Desk staffs are friendly and helpful (Good job to Wen Ye, Jane and Tini). Also special thanks to Mizal or Mizan (Bell Men). He is very alert and attentive. Things to improve: 1. Sound proofing needed more attention. I can hear people talking /chatting outside my room. 2. Shower cubicle floor trap need to be cleaned as frequent. It was flooded a bit (Did not over flow) inside the cubicle when I shower... either the water volume is too much drain out the water or there's some blockage in the floor trap. 3. TV channels is very very limited. 4. Maybe can consider having hotel own spa/reflexology. The spa/reflexology next to the hotel always fully booked. Even though there's another spa a few blocks away, it was raining and not convenient for me to walk over there. Beside the improvement needed, I would say Mei Hotel deserves a triple thumbs up. whether I will stay at Mei Hotel again in my future trip, OF COURSE I WILL... no doubt about it.
